My love for film started at an early age, and was rooted in the horror genre. Horror films in particular shaped my youth and was essential to babysitting my rambunctious personality. Once I got the opportunity to help develop a paranormal short, I was ecstatic to say the least. I knew that I had to work within the confines of a short, and also be able set the stage for our family and showcase Henry in action. In order to do so, I needed to leave some ambiguity to our story and have the audience pick up the breadcrumbs. Once I found out that the story was told through the eyes of a teenager, I knew that I wanted to bring an innocent and punchy tone to our storytelling. With that being said, I also wanted to keep it grounded in order for the film to have a sense of reality and gravitas. In order to build a sense of dread, I wanted to bring my style of filmmaking and capture a heightened sense of emotion. ’Henry’ is the culmination of all of the above, and we hope that Henry lives in the shadows and corners of festivals around the world.
