The Hibulb Cultural Center and Natural History Preserve's mission is to revive, restore, protect, interpret, collect and enhance the history, traditional cultural values and spiritual beliefs of the Tulalip Tribes who are the successors in interest to the Snohomish, Snoqualmie and Skykomish tribes and other tribes and bands signatory to the Treaty of Point Elliott.
For the past 11 years, the Hibulb Cultural Center has been a space to share and uplift Indigenous made media. For our 12th annual film festival, our theme is Cultural Resilience. We welcome all films. The film festival will be held November 16th, 2024 at the Hibulb Cultural Center in Tulalip, Washington.
This year we will be giving out seven awards, one for the seven Tulalip stories/values. These include the Crane and Changer, who teaches us to respect elders and pay attention to their good words; Her First Basket that teaches us to uphold and respect ancestral teachings; How Daylight was Stolen, which teaches us to value work to uphold and serve our people, and so on.
