HBCU Homecoming Tour is an exploration of Americans cornerstone historical black colleges and universities; recanting their contributions and involvement across the diaspora. With Homecoming being our center focus, we visit each institution awaiting a deeper look into the rich and vibrant history at the epicenter of these institutions.

Director Biography - Jon Wayne

Jon Wayne was born Jonathan Wayne Jackson on September 1, 1995, in Washington, D.C. He was making amateur films and music videos by age 20, and won the Atlanta University Center Campus Movie Festival Jury Winner in 2017. Jackson drew attention with his first short, King — which received a short film invitation to the Cannes International Film Festival 2018 — and continues to create films that explore provocative topics like race and violence. Before starting TX-301 Productions LLC. Jon interned with Street Execs Studios, Rite Media Group and David Lewis Productions. Working as a PA, AD or writer on projects such as the Falcons documentary “Rising Up”, music videos for major artists like Derez Deshon and 2 Chainz while still creating his own content. Jon is looking forward to creating video games, featured films, animation, documentaries and more.
