Gyulyara is an award-winning Azeri (Azerbaijan) director, who was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Dreaming about always becoming a TV-presenter she went to Lomonosov Moscow State University, Television and Radio Department and has realised her dream too early at the age of 19. Searching for new challenges she agreed to help her friend with a short film in 2011, where she ended up co-writing, directing, editing and acting in it. The film "Gone Hopes" unexpectedly went viral and gained more than 1 million viewers on youtube. Since then Film Directing has become her passion in life.

In 2012 she made a second amateur film "October,12" in 24h film competition and won a nomination "Best Director". She graduated her uni with a documentary film "Online means I exist" in 2013, and in 2014 she made another fiction short "Confession".

In 2016 she moved to London to complete a MA in Directing at Met Film School. Her master project "Trust Me", devoted to victims at terror attacks in Paris in 2015, has become her first professionally made film and has been screened across various film festivals in London, Sydney, Moscow. At British Independent Film Festival 2017 she was the only one nominated to "Best Director" alongside with feature film directors. And in Cinegate Aurora Film Awards in Moscow she recently won "Best Director" award. 

The latest film is "Escort", which is currently on festivals journey (fingers crossed), meanwhile she is in pre-production of her first feature film about women rights in Muslim countries.
