Guyu - An Ancient Whisper

The video is featuring critical coral reefs ecosystem and the marine wildlife who live there.

Dr. Ying Ying Liu sings in this amazing rendition of Reynaldo Hahn's song. This is the third music video track of her current project 《Ensoul》. In this video, sea turtle is our main character. The reefs support 25% marine species. Together these ecosystems support healthy oceans. Ocean is critical to our survival. It produces 50% of the oxygen we breathe, absorbs 1/3 of the heat we produce.

Because of climate change and pollution we produce, our ocean and coral reefs are grave danger. If coral reefs die, 25% of our marine life would vanish. Let's protect our oceans and coral reefs. This is a healing sound with the ancient whispers of the sea!

Director Statement

The international fight against species extinction will not be effective without putting serious effort into reducing demand, especially in key markets like Hong Kong, China and Asia. In order to change people's mindset and behavior towards wildlife, we must first engage with their emotions and inspire them to fall in love with the beauty of wildlife, because we protect what we love. There is nothing more powerful than music to engage at a deep emotional level for change. History had shown music can motivate millions of people to act for a common cause.

LumiVoce's “Ensoul” is a series of innovative wildlife music videos in both English and Chinese. Guyu - An Ancient Whisper is one of these. Its original music track is based on a well-known classical melody by Reynaldo Hahn but re-created into an innovative music track. It's pure vocalization blends with diverse instruments and rhythms from specific geographies. It also incorporates sounds and moving images of wildlife and nature and demonstrates we are all interconnected.

These music videos engage emotions, touch hearts and inspire people. They aim to turn today's wildlife consumers into tomorrow’s wildlife champions.
