Gurgen Janibekyan born into a family of Artist. After high school, Gurgen continued his studies at the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute in the Faculty of film and photos. He has worked in many Armenian TV channels as a cameraman and director. In 2004, Gurgen Janibekyan directed his first short film, "A strong man." In the same year the film was featured at the International Youth Film Festival "Yes em." In 2010, Gurgen directed his second short film, "The end is the beginning." With this work he participated in 2010 at the International Film Festival "Golden Apricot", and in 2011 at the 3rd International Festival of the operators "Golden Eye" was awarded a special prize. In 2012, at the International Youth Film Festival "Yes em" the film won the prize of the Union of Armenian Cinematographers. His third short film "Pepitto" Gurgen Janibekyan in 2013 took part in the 10th International Festival "Golden Apricot".
In 2013, Gurgen Janibekyan founded and directs the film studio BEK ART.
