Music producer Kevin Shirley has worked with Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa, Silverchair, Journey, The Black Crowes, Metallica and many more giants of the music world, selling millions of records around the world. He has produced about twenty long form concert videos and produced music for major movies like Armageddon and more.
In the business of entertainment, very often the sideshow of celebrity overshadows talent. As a producer of millions of records sold, I'm aware of the fine line we walk, but vision and creativity are what has always drawn me to my chosen field.
Having stumbled upon an extraordinary talent with a long last name in a small town, together with his manager, we set about creating an extraordinary path to stardom for a very unassuming star.
Joe Bonamassa, with no history of celebrity idiosyncrasies - no brown M&M's, no sordid sexual dalliances, no substance abuse and no record company support - yet armed with an extraordinary talent in the very marginalized and staid genre of The Blues, has defied the odds.
All I wanted to do, was show the world how anyone who works hard, perseveres and commits to the challenges, and stands by his principles and peers, can achieve the success that alludes so many.
So I set out to see if I could show people on a long haul flight, who like music but who'd never heard of Joe, and who didn't feel like sitting through another 3 hour blockbuster movie with superheroes flinging each other from planet to planet, that there is sensational talent to be discovered and enjoyed. And it turned out to be far more entertaining than I imagined.
