Director Biography - Nic Gyalson

Nic Gyalson moved his frst steps into music as a little kid with his maternal grandmother, a classical musician who taught him to sing.
During the high school years he discovered the Psychedelic Rock music and the Blues, and therefore began to play keyboards and guitars.
Once he got his sound technician degree, the need for expression led him to produce his frst album “Alluvision” at La Sauna Recording Studio in Varese, Italy, in 2015.
In those years he also composed several soundtracks for documentaries produced by his father Fulvio Mariani, from whom he inherited the passion toward cinema.
In the Summer of 2018 he began the production of his new album “You Could Almost”, released simultaneously with the music video "Ground" on October 24 2019.

Director Statement

I made "Ground" to challenge myself: I had a strong desire to make a video with space content using mostly practical effects and absolutely avoiding the use of green screen. Building the cockpit, props and costumes on my own, and preparing all backgrounds prior to shooting was a painful process but it gave me enormous satisfaction. I completed the shooting during a non-stop 54 hour session, with only the actress acting and myself doing everything else alone. This music video is therefore the craziest thing I've ever done in my life.
