I bend the physicalities of my body/structure into a fluid/mix of color, fabric, and body makeup. The work evokes and confronts people’s insecurities and brings them into the spotlight; examine the reasons for those insecurities. Drag has and always will be political, limitless, and challenge the idea of gender. Through my alter ego, I confront the human conditions. Jen D'abenda grows with my work as they learn more influences and movements; they know how to love not only physically but mentally. They test my struggles with gender and fluidity that comes with drag. Jen chose what they wanted to produce through the lens of video. Video and drag elaborate with each other through editing the environment as I edit the feature of my body. The functional structure of my focus is on the component’s environment, both internal and external. Jen explores the drag component of AFAB queens, a drag community of women who dress in the makeup style of feminine drag queens. Their audience is a group of lenses from other parts of the world, and I’m merely an idea to look over as anyone could see my work.
