I was born in Moscow in 1992 into a large family. My mother, Marina Belkevich, is an artist, and my father, Alexander Yarin, is a writer and translator specializing in German-to-Russian translations. At the age of 16, I began working with film still photography, later pursuing cinematography at VGIK (All-Russian State University of Cinematography). In 2010, I relocated to Israel. After serving in the tank forces, I enrolled at Tel Aviv University pursuing a degree in Film and Television. Over the years, I have showcased my work in photo exhibitions in Israel and Germany.
As a cinematographer, I received the Israeli Documentary Film Forum Award for my work on the films Yana (2021, directed by Noah Dulberg) and The Midwife to Afterlife (2024, directed by Tal Schindel). As a director, I have created three films: Clear Day (2019), Pulsar (2019), and Vital Signs (2025). Pulsar won multiple awards at the 8th Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival, including Best Student Film and Best Direction.
I currently reside in Ramat Gan with my wife, Becky Slobodov, and our young son, Yahav Yaakov.
