One of indiewire.com’s “Ten Short Filmmakers You Should Know,” Smith currently has eleven shorts completed with OneTakeFilms, with several feature screenplays seeking production.
His latest film, the period horror short "Glasgow," just screened at the 2019 Anchorage International Film Festival, with more festivals to come! His high school drama "Hummingbird" has just begun its festival submission journey, with screening announcements coming soon.
His period horror short "Scary Larry," screened at the 2015 Seattle International Film Festival, and won the RI International Horror Film Festival’s “Best Editing Award.” His multi-award-winning "The Back Room" screened at over 50 festivals world wide, and won “Best Short” in Season 7 of LOGO TV’s "The Click List: Best in Short Film."
Other recent credits include directing the upcoming web series, "All the World's a Cage," the two-part season finale of the award-winning web series "Darwin: The Series," helmed by Carrie Preston, AD-ing "Little Consequences," directed by "Sweet Home Alabama" screenwriter C. Jay Cox, and acting in C. Jay Cox’s film "How the End Begins." Smith is on the rise as a Stand-up comedian. He lives in LA with his husband and favorite actor Michael Fitzpatrick.
