Director Statement

I started writing this screenplay after a conversation with my Mother in-law regarding same-sex marriage. We approach the subject from very different points of view but generally, can have an open and honest discussion.

Not everyone has the ability to openly discuss who they are or their beliefs including my wife who is bi-sexual. Based on knowing the secret my wife hides from her very tight-knit family, I wanted to say something.
This is personal for me as it represents my wife's lack of acceptance should she "come out" to her family. It represents the deeply held and valid religious beliefs her mother and family hold. It also represents my perception, watching her life unfold for 16 years.
I wanted to say that neither "side" is right nor wrong but that we should accept each other and love each other even when we vehemently disagree. Hence the "Grace" in the title.
