Not everyone can be the best on the team. Some people must sit and wait for their turn. But those same people have the option to accept being a bench-warmer or keep competing to get the starting job. Adam Szymanski is the third string goalie on Grand Valley State University’s D2 hockey team and has yet to play since his freshman year.

As the season continues to push on and the chances begin to fade, Adam does not give up trying to prove he is capable of playing at the D2 level. The season comes down to the last couple of games and the coach has to make a decision that has been resting on Adams shoulders the entire second half of the season.

Director Biography - Wes Morgan

I am the second of four children in my family. I grew up in Michigan, in a small town called Middleville. I was awarded runner-up in the Meijer Great Choices Student Film Festival in high school and judged the first round in college. I am attending Grand Valley State University and will be graduating in the spring of 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in film and video production. I was on GVSU’s National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team, was first in one of two mega districts and qualified for regionals. I have done videos for GVSU's club hockey team and for River City Studios.
