Goodnight Jyc

Edmund was Jaques Cousteau's best friend in childhood but they developed a rivalry in their teens that they took to their graves. Now, all that remains of Edmond is his strange granddaughter Lulu and the family dog Jyc. Lulu and Jyc spend their days searching for the wreckage of Edmund's raft, the Odysseus, and any sign of Edmund.

Director Statement

There has never been a more isolating period in our lifetimes. The secret madness in all of us has been coming to the surface. The world as we know it has been transformed. The outcasts, freaks, and renegades have become the protagonist of this new narrative. These are my people and I would like to be able to always explore the stories of those who are usually too quiet or strange to be acknowledged. The intricate mechanics of these inner world builders is the stuff magical realism is made of. I want to unlock the sad and beautiful lives of those who can create worlds within worlds. People like Henry Darger or Vivian Maier who refused to be defined by the world around them.
