Goodbye, Sveta
It is a movie about Russian young woman Sveta who one day felt herself a man and changed her name to Soldadu, starting a transition. After that Soldadu was brutally beaten by the far-right extremists and FSB (Russian Security Service) followed him. He escaped to Ukraine and applied for refugee status, but got the rejection because of biased migration officers. In Ukraine Soldadu met the love of his life and started to struggle for refugee status in a court. The trial lasted for almost three years, and all the time ghosts of the past didn’t leave him in peace. He faced panic attacks and suicide thoughts. His life turned to a nightmare struggle against the soviet style state machine.
