Goodbye, Ana! Hello, Me!

The film "Goodbye, Ana! Hello, Me!" is a poignant and thought-provoking exploration of the inner world of a young girl struggling with anorexia. The film takes us on a journey through two distinct phases of her life - her descent into the illness and her journey towards recovery.
At the beginning, the film shows how the protagonist is drawn into the grasp of anorexia, and how it slowly takes over her thoughts and actions. Dissatisfied with her previous successes, she finds comfort in numbers, which represent both security and success on the one hand, and fear and terror on the other. The film highlights the conflict between her inner voice, personified as "Ana", and her own thoughts and desires.

Eight months into treatment, the protagonist finds herself at a turning point. She reflects on the meaning of her illness and is torn between her desire to be free from "Ana" and her fear of letting go of the control she has built around herself. Through this internal struggle, the film showcases the emotional and mental toll that anorexia can take on those affected.

The film is a powerful commentary on the complexities of mental illness, and the importance of seeking help and support. It aims to shed light on the inner world of those affected by eating disorders, and to reduce the stigma surrounding them. "Goodbye, Ana! Hello, Me!" is a work of art that touches the heart and leaves a lasting impact, a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the triumph of hope over adversity.
People with their own experience of eating disorders helped write the script.
