Experiencing Interruptions?

Good Years Gone

Being back in his hometown for the first time since moving away, Chet realizes how much he's missed it and decides to site see with his old friend, Meek, while taking pictures. But to Meek, it's not much of a "memory lane" stroll but a reminder as to where he's been "trapped" his whole life.

Director Biography - Andrew Kovac

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio to immigrant parents. I've been exploring film as an expressive art form for over 10 years now.

Filmmaking was something I always viewed as a hobby until I got older and realized it's not doesn't have to be a pipe dream. I'm very lucky to be able to work with so many talented people from all over the world to make my stories come to life. I'm attending USC School of the Cinematic Arts and continuing my dreams there.

Director Statement

Good Years Gone was a retaliation project. I had just finished working on a big +30 people project with a budget of $10,000 and was ready to dive back into my 4-5 people projects again. Guerilla style.

I wrote Good Years Gone without realizing that it was about two halves of myself. The one ready to leave and the one who was already missing my hometown. I knew I wanted to tell this story about Akron being this "rustbelt town" but being beautiful and special in its own right.

Every positive has a negative and every light casts a shadow, whether we realize it or not.
