Rebecca Elmire Tremblay is an East Coast storyteller, filmmaker and actress with a passion for telling stories about connection, resilience and possibility. She enjoys directing dramas and comedies the most. She’s the recipient of three filmmaking awards to write, direct and produce her own shorts, including The Short Film Venture Program Award (CAD $6000), made possible by Telefilm Canada/New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative/Province of New Brunswick. This award is what brought ‘Good Mom’ to life!
She’s also received development funding for a TV Show (WildBrain-CMF Program), a Pilot Episode (The TELUS Fund) and a Podcast for Tweens (Canada's Community Support Fund). Nominated for her performance in two short films, Rebecca's on-screen acting credits include Garde Partagée (Unis TV), Diggstown (CBC), The Town Clown (Bell Fibe-TV1) and Beyond Silenced (Silver Wave Film Festival).
Crew roles she has held in film and television productions include: Screenwriter, Director, Production Manager, Producer, Art Director, Casting Director and Wardrobe Supervisor.
Her newest project is a 7-minute film in the drama genre, for which she was awarded the CBC/NB Joy Award at the 2022 Silver Wave Film Festival. The script is in the final draft stage and she’s preparing to go to camera in April 2023.
