Gold Canyon is known, not only for its scenic backdrop but for the movies that were made at Apacheland Movie Ranch including Elvis's "Charro," Kenny Roger's "The Gambler" and Stella Steven's "The Ballad of Cable Houge." Please see the Gold Canyon Film Festival's website for more information on the history of moviemaking in this area.
