Going To America
Using posterized versions of my own and family photographs (and a few that I licensed) from the 1940s to the present of Americans and the moving words on American monuments and buildings wedded to my award-winning original song, I hoped to present a positive future for our nation.

Quotes
"David Goldman has a gift for channeling his love of the whole wide world of music into well-crafted songs, and he has the voice to do those songs justice."—John Platt, WFUV 90.7FM
“Few people on this earth were born to sing, but lucky for us, David Goldman is one of them.” ––Christine Lavin
World Music Multiple Grammy Winner Ricky Kej on ‘Summer With Juliet’ CD: “Bravo! David Goldman always blows me away with his voice...This album is chock full of some truly inspired and brilliant songs in a variety of languages. Goldman does full justice to all the songs and left me wanting more.”
"Summer With Juliet is truly wonderful, full of that all-too-rare quality of vision meeting craft and giftedness head on…. The world will always need…music written with depth of soul, character and heart. David Goldman's voice is beautiful, his lyrics surprising, his range impressive, and the record stays with you…" Rob Mathes, songwriter, performer, arranger. (Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, etc.)
“Summer with Juliet is one of those rare works in which what may seem to be disparate parts meld into a compelling statement of beauty and wonderment…. accomplishing a travelogue of sorts that would cause envy in some of the pop world’s most notorious border crossers, such as Sting, Paul Simon and David Byrne.” Tom Staudter, Croton Gazette “On The Beat”
The song recording of "Going To America" won the 2016 GOLD AWARD Folk-Rock/Americana/Roots Rock Category 32nd Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest by Songwriters Association of Washington.
When I visited Washington D.C. a few years ago for the first time in decades, I was inspired by the power of the moving words on our nation’s most important buildings, monuments and war memorials––words about democracy, justice, freedom, independence and equality. I couldn’t help but feel we all need to remind ourselves of the profound meaning of those words, of who we say we are, and re-dedicate ourselves to those cherished ideals. This song embodies my deepest hopes for all that America can be.
