Director Statement

One time, my screenwriting teacher asked me why we need a God to worship. I couldn't answer him at the time, and since that day I have been trying to come up with an answer to convince myself at least. This film is the final cut for my answer.

What prompted me to make this film is trying to introduce existential questions that occupy a decent space in the mind of every human. Particularly, the subject of God, which was bid by many movies, some of which supports the idea of God’s existence ideologically and others oppose it.

In my film, I am trying to explore the human space as an independent entity and its relationship with God, apart from religious ideologies. I see the idea of God as the “innate need” to that power, the decision maker, of which people disagree on defining. Some believe this power is “Allah" and others don’t.

Evan, the child, believes that the face is this power, the decision maker. His need prompts him to create it. Most of the dramatic details I took from real life stories of some of the children I know.
