Duan Changwen left his hometown of Sichuan, China in 1949, and followed the Government of the Republic of China to Taiwan. Duan Cai Caiqiong, a young female from central Taiwan, worked diligently in a textile factory. Fate brought them together. For the next forty years, they lived in a military dependents' village near Miaoli and worked in a clothing factory.
As the factory closed down and the village being demolished, people started to move away. The once-bustling village became a ghost-like place. The Duans, however, continued to live there.
In this film, the director returned to the village where she grew up and filmed her grandparents' memories and lives.

Daun pei yao was born in Taiwan, 1991. She started out in filmmaking as an editor on a number of documentaries such as Goodnight & Goodbye(2018). The documentary was officially selected for both the Doclisboa International Film Festival and the Taiwan International Documentary Festival in 2018. Go Home is her first film.
