Christine Chen has been filming since she knew what a VHS camcorder could do. She has a B.A. from Rice University as well as a MBA from the University of Texas McCombs. Christine's short films A Bird's Nest and Ya Albi were Top 5 Louisiana Film Prize Finalists in 2014 and 2016 respectively. They are available on iTunes, Amazon, ShortsHD and continue to make the festival rounds. Christine's debut feature ‘Funemployment’, produced under her banner Moth to Flame Films, is also currently being submitted to festivals.
Camille Schmoutz is passionate about the transformative power of cinematic storytelling. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College in 2015 and made her screenwriting and directorial debut in 2018 with her short film ‘Gloria’ which premiered at the Louisiana Film Prize Festival and received a Founders’ Circle Award. She believes wholeheartedly in the merits of collaboration and hopes to do her part to strengthen the community of filmmakers working to make the world a better, more beautiful place with their art.
We hope that our film 'Gloria' offers an authentic, heartfelt portrayal of transgender and gender-nonconforming people in a way that uplifts and honors the LGBT+ community and sheds a light on our shared humanity that everyone can see and understand.
