Director Biography

It was inspired by my personal life as well as the culture in Pakistan, particularly during the early 2000s. As a filmmaker, my vision was to create a film in homage to my late grandparents, as well as evoke a sense of nostalgia and home for viewers, who while not from there, can still connect to my experiences.

I largely drew inspiration from the film "Late Afternoon", incorporating the smooth transitions between the different memories.

Though the story only came to be after receiving the unfortunate news of my grandfather's passing, I did not want to make a depressing film. Rather, I was leaning towards creating a sense of warmth with a bittersweet ending that could be left open to the viewer's interpretation.

As a filmmaker and a student, this film is very important to me as I had made a promise to myself when I started studying animation that I would one day showcase Muslim characters in a Pakistani setting in a film. This was the perfect opportunity for me to do so.
