Stories have always been a part of my life. As a kid I wished to make up stories and imaginary worlds.
At some point I studied journalism so now I write stories for a living.
I always love movies but not just the surface of them. I loved all the behind-the-scenes, the making-ofs. Besides it's always a bigger pleasure to create something than go watch it as a spectator.
Since my teenage years, I always wanted to sit down and write a script. I did some failed attempts over the years but nothing serious.
It never came up plus I had no life experience. When the pandemic hit, in 2020, I had more time and ideas since I was working from home so I decided to write my first ever script. I took a more practical approach and didn’t take any lessons or seminars.
I read books, googled a lot, watched movies while reading the script. I finished my first script in the fall of 2022 and since then I keep making it better.
My fist script "A tale of dreams" is about an 18-year old girl, with a talent in the piano, who leaves her home-country, Greece and discovers the real adult life in USA, creating music and her dreams, despite the difficulties she will face, with the unique, "magical" way her father taught her.
It got an honorary mention at International Epidaurus Film Festival (2022), a finalist placement in Athens Monthly International Film Festival and a quarterfinalist placemement in The Script Lab - TSL Free Screenplay Contest 2023 in the USA!
I have also written a short story and my screenwriting journey continues.
I have written drama so far.
I believe that not everyone in this business is perfect, most of all screenwriters.
Everybody is learning constantly. I am one of those people that need constructive and even negative criticism because it makes me and the craft better. I am open to suggestions, ideas, collaboration because filmmaking is a team “sport”.
