I am Giorgia Ciraolo, a young director and assistant director from Naples, Italy, with a deep passion for cinema since childhood. I graduated in Modern Literature from the University of Naples Federico II, writing a thesis on Cinema-Vérité, a field that particularly fascinates me. Over the years, I have gained experience working as an assistant director on various film sets, where I have been able to hone my organizational skills and attention to detail.
In 2022, I approached the world of documentary filmmaking through the Procida Film Atelier, a Cinema-Vérité workshop directed by Leonardo di Costanzo and produced by Parallelo41, where I co-directed the film Procida, which was presented out of competition at the 2023 Locarno Film Festival and awarded a special mention at the Pardo Verde Ricola.
In 2024, I participated in the Laguna Film Lab, as part of the Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival, produced by ZaLab. During this workshop, I created a documentary telling the story of Fiorellina, a 71-year-old street vendor, and the world around her, capturing fragments of her complex life. I continue to work actively as an assistant director and in production, but I dream of growing as a director, developing my creative vision through Cinema-Vérité and other projects.
