The Gimli Film Festival is widely recognized as the most successful film festival in Manitoba, Canada, and as such it is our mandate to support filmmakers by paying minimum IMAA screening fees to ALL films that screen as part of our festival!
It is our aim to bring critical, boundary-pushing cinema to our local audiences in the beautiful summer lakeside community of Gimli, Manitoba. We annually showcase the best fiction feature films and documentary feature films from around the world! We also program various short films from Manitoba and across Canada.
We annually have dedicated series focused on Icelandic films, social justice documentaries, Indigenous films, films from the Circumpolar regions, environmental films and in 2018 we are hoping to make strides towards total gender parity in the festival by increasing levels of female-driven cinema!
The 2018 Gimli Film Festival will celebrate the 18th edition of GFF and continue to showcase the best new films from Canada’s and Manitoba’s most promising directors and an exceptional selection of features and documentaries from around the world.
