Giant Cats on Googie Cat Tree Compilation / Aww Animals
Through the Corona conditioned measures, with all their restrictions, closures and barriers, Claudia Holzinger and Raphael Unger came across more and more often the comparison with the situation of domestic cats, which get their natural environment through domestication - also restricted by foreign hand and already trimmed.
The idea of the cat tree in human size forced itself. Different levels and paths form the framework of the human tree, which with its bright colors, soft plush and digital gadgets, offers variety and distraction and deceives and comforts from the lack of the natural radius.
Here, under the guise of cultivated domesticity, banal conflicts are played out, depicting the highs and lows of momentary existence. The reality depicted seems rigid, time as if frozen. Past and future lose meaning, evaporate. Is this the beginning of something completely new or does it go on and on until it suddenly stops at some point?
