Ghungur, a melancholy melody

Ghungur Synopsis
The story depicts "a melancholy melody" which is belongs to a 9 years old Girl and her mother. The girl born & brought up with her mother in the footpath and her mother is a waste collector by profession. The girl love to dance and wish to learn so but that is to much fantasy for her mother as they are not well by wealth, foods. Oneday the girl bring a pair of "Ghungur" (bells) to her mother and she got angry that her child is a thief!! Then what will be the next? Can police come to arrest her daughter? Why her mother got pale over her?

Director Biography - Chayan Kumar De

About the Director
I'm an actor. Theatre actor and practicing since 1998. My main focus area is underprivileged theatre practice. Over 14 years working experience with different NGO's, Song & Drama and State IEC some social disorders has deeply affect me. And our film "Ghungur" made on the basis of Hearing Impaired (Deaf and Dumb).
I love to make fiction on different issues which can able to connect for the general mass.
Last year 2023, I made my first micro short film "Karsaji, the fictitious" where I tried put the message of a struggling actor.
According to me, cinema is a mirror where I can deliver everything but as well as this is a practical learning tools which is very essential with theoretical.
I wish to learn as a maker till my last breath.

I'm fighting with Cochlear Implants through this movie that can help 80% populations of my country (India) who are basically financially underprivileged can get the proper treatment for their new born baby in Govt. Hospitals.
