Born and raised in a small rural township in the Eastern Cape, Thamsanqa Kasie has defied his odds and crafted his own narrative through his artistic endeavours. The Stutterheim native is a budding film-maker, arts activist and entrepreneur.
As the founder of the arts socialist movement Nangamso Arts Projects, Thamsanqa Kasie has set his eyes on spreading the message that ‘art belongs everywhere’. His primary focus is under privileged spaces, specifically those that are creatively disadvantaged and artistically under-resourced.
“Art is the truest form of expression. Artistry is the closest thing we truly know to God, because only God and an artist can create from nothing.” - Thamsanqa Kasie.
