Gennady Golobokov - a man and artist of the future

Soviet cosmist artist Gennady Golobokov (1935-1978) in his paintings carried out a brilliant synthesis of ideas and artistic searches of the 20th century: these are the experiments of the avant-garde and the admiration of the life of the realists. These are the search for religious philosophy and the design of a new communist world order.

The artist's manner of execution of works shows an irreconcilability towards circumstances. Confident, sharp brushstrokes. The paintings at first glance are careless, but in fact extremely precisely intersected by lines from one edge to the other. The colors are sharply separated from each other. The works are filled with movement.

The courage and determination with which the paintings are painted are complemented by the way Golobokov depicts a person. He is slender, elongated, tense... If this person performs a certain ritual, he performs it with full dedication. If he loves, then with all his heart. He says goodbye - with all his soul. This is a strong person, because it is difficult to live "to the fullest". And the life of the artist Golobokov himself proves that his paintings are not fantasies divorced from life, but a guide to action.
