Director Statement

This film was created while social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic and managing emotions of the tragic murders of George Floyd & Breonna Taylor. All the talented individuals worked on this project from their homes and have shown a creative resolve while social distancing. For that I express an extreme gratitude to them. This film is my directorial debut. Its collection of concepts and ideals I developed over my college/professional career and childhood. I sourced films like Spike Lee’s Crooklyn, Nelson Shin’s The Transformers: The Movie (1986), Ava Duverae’s 13th and Ryan Coogler’s Creed as inspirations. Within a month I have taught myself 2d animation piggybacking form my experiences as an artist, graphic designer, DP and video editor.

With all said, I never would of thought that my 1st film is a 2D animated short.
