Jennifer De Peris is a journalism professional, with a heart full of love for cinema. She was always a Hollywood junkie, but her love for world cinema grew as she worked as a Film critic for years. After criticizing many films, she wanted to learn how a film is made. Personally she thinks of herself more as a critic, than a filmmaker. As per her words, this journey helped her to think like a filmmaker. She just finished her master’s degree in Television, Film & Photography from University of Dhaka.

Director Statement

Our main challenge was to create a film centered on a single character in one location, which led us to this idea. The inspiration came from a real incident that occurred last year in Dhaka, widely covered by newspapers. However, we aimed to explore the story from the perspective of a victim's family member, capturing their emotions during that time. We sought to convey their sense of helplessness and the tragedy of losing a loved one unexpectedly. Our goal was to highlight the uncertainty of life, illustrating that no matter one's wealth, living in one of the most "unlivable" cities in the world can turn life into a gas chamber, leading to tragic outcomes.
