(Synopsis)
Dheki is associated with the social life of Assam since ages. But modernization is eroding such age old cultures. With such addition and subtraction the new Assamese social life is constructed. Dheki is an important part of the social life, specially of rural life of Assam. The machinisation has replaced Dheki with Mills and different grinding machines. Thus Dheki is rare now even in villages. Not only Dheki, if the new generation is not introduced to these items they will vanish even from the memory soon. Still these is hope, may be it will survive with proper care.

Asomi Sarmah is an amateur drama artist. Directing dramas is her hobby. With it she also makes some short movies, documents etc.
Away from the mainstream studio machinery I am an independent filmmaker. Taking care of the new art with creative outlook I am often in a fight with myself. I get drawn in the ocean of imagination. I want to cover the entertainment in films. Short films and documentary making are my heart's calling. I am always in search of facts built with sweat and blood. .Asomi Sarmah, resident of Ratnapur village of Lakhimpur is an independent filmmaker.

The traditional rituals and ceremonies, phrases and idioms, folk songs carry the cultural taste of the rural lives of Assam. We are trying to show an instrument associated with the social life of Assam. It's called Dheki.
