Garden of Others

"Garden of Others" is inspired by today's dating apps as a way to find love and life partners. It shows how intimacy has changed in our relationships following the rise of online profiles and self-portrayal. In a society where physical appearance is so important, we increasingly forget how to connect.
We rarely make eye contact. We barely touch.
Yet, we judge and swipe away people by the second.

Are we dating others out of genuine interest or are we spicing up our own profile?
Are we even interest in sustaining a loving relationship?
Or is it just way safer to consume and follow the crowd?

CHOREOGRAPHY
“Garden of Others” opposes artificial and stylized dancing to an organically developing choreography between two people.
It starts in a world of seeming perfection, an analogy to the online world, where movement is strictly repetitive and superficial. Dating in this narcissistic world leads to dysfunctional relationships filled with ignorance, forced symbiotic struggle and abuse.
Only when breaking out of this system and finding our own way from within, we open up to an authentic way of connecting with a loved one. We need to be able to take risks, let ourselves fall and trust into being caught. We need to stay sensitive and caring.
