‘Gajon – Hymns of Nature’ is an immersive docufiction film that dives into the heart of the Gajon festival celebrated in a quaint village Toria in Midnapore, West Bengal, India. The film follows the journey of six days of the Bhoktas (Devotees) through their daily life, and showcasing the rituals, daring and awe-inspiring acts performed by the devotees and exploring the mythology, in context to sustainability, that define the festivities.

Debanjan Majhi is a filmmaker with a background in civil engineering and visual communication. He began his career working on a defence construction project in New Delhi but later chose to follow his passion for storytelling through films and mixed media. He completed his post graduation in Design education from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
Over the years, he has worked with organizations like PSBT, Netflix, Google Org, Tata Steel Foundation, Unicef, Vishesh Films and SVF, among others. His body of work includes award-winning short films, documentaries, mini web series, corporate films, and mixed media content, many of which are available on various OTT platforms.
