Gaixia

Home Sweet home ! Debra just returned from her trip. She must quickly tidy up before Nathan arrives. Thankfully, Ava is here too. Nothing but a nice milky tea, on a sunny afternoon. Is anybody else coming?

Gaixia delves into Debra's isolated mind, trapped into four walls, uniting film aesthetic and body movement for a glimpse of Debra's world.

Director Biography - Jean Camenen

Jean is a 26 year-old French-born, London-based director, producer, writer and support worker.
Jean was eager to waste his youth studying, hence his diplomas from King's College London, Jacques Lecoq theatre school and Royal Central school of speech and drama.
Jean also thought it would be a good idea to start a career right before a pandemic.
Jean thus became a support worker for adults with disabilities throughout the various British lockdowns, which has helped him in shaping Gaixia.

Director Statement

I take interest in the functioning and mindsets of others, whether sole individuals or whole societies. Through Gaixia, I aimed to grasp how a disordered and isolated mind may undergo reality, and how the world could appear through the eyes of such a mind.
