GAZEL OF THE GIBRALTAR STRAITS
Choral groups and music bands are a popular and universal phenomenon, and Europe boasts thousands.
The Tarifa Chorale and Band (Cadiz, Spain) rehearse an original piece of music composed for this documentary, while their members – most of them women – narrate their motivations and the musical and social experiences that are common to such groups.
Gazel: from "ghazal", a usually amatory lyric poem, idiosyncratic to Andalusian Arabic.
