He strongly believes a film is collage of emotions, shapes, forms and so on which a director’s mindscape is painted on films.
For a long time we have been telling the stories of marginalized people by various media, in literature, paintings in the movies.
Everywhere we explain of their living and the story of better living. They try to come out from their practical or dark life towards the larger world for a better life.
But here the protagonist Moti chose a journey against the current. Her roots are rooted much deeper and it’s connected with this river and soil.
People living in the Sundarban region are facing natural threats. Economically, they are also under threat. Everyone has to go to big cities to earn a good income. Their normal family structure is being destroyed and everyone is being separated. In that case they are very unfortunate social human being.
Moti chooses one another alternative dreams of living. She trusts her land, soil, river and nature. She believes that something will happen from here.
In fact, she is involved in the illusion of relationship with this river, this soil, this village and the mundane connection that no one can find today. Everyone’s roots have been cut; somehow everyone is living like a plant without roots.
The experienced society always made her think she should not be here. Sometimes they torture her. She endures a lot of pain and fight a lot, but she stayed in this village with her illusory faith. She actually lives in her surreal bliss.
We all create a world in our surreal mind, but we cannot always be stuck there in faith.
