Fulena Nights

This story is from small village in Bihar, state of India. In Bihar, even today there is class, where man still has to dance, sing and perform disguised as women to earn their livelihood. This form of act is known is “Lawanda Naanch” (Men dance disguised as women). Lawanda (Man disguised as women) and his group entertains their audience by dancing, singing and performing different kind of acts. However in society they are looked down upon, because men disguises himself as women and dances to entertain. When “Lawanda” (Man disguised as women) gets older, he is given the job of Joker in the same show , and a younger boy takes up his job of Lawanda , so that when he disguises himself as women, he looks prettier and luring to the audience. This film tries to unveil the hypercritic mentality of today’s society through the three character Lawanda (Men disguised as Women), Joker & Hero in Lawanda Naanch (Men dance disguised as women).
