Fruits of the Spirit: a Gathering Film
When Maddy and Carys get outed to their church worship band, they have to fight to stay together, in the face of an institution that wants nothing more than to see them apart. Can they hold onto faith when it seems that their faith doesn’t want them? 'Fruits of the Spirit' is a dramatic tale of hope, perseverance, and religious intolerance – a tale that is familiar to many.

An aspiring screenwriter, Georgia currently works for The Gathering as their LGBTQ+ Community Link Worker. With only three weeks of on-set work experience under their belt, Fruits of the Spirit is Georgia’s directorial debut, and this project has meant a great deal to them. It is a fairly personal story for Georgia, too, who grew up in a Baptist church that did not accept them for being queer. Making this project has been really cathartic and has been an incredible opportunity to make the sort of film that would have been incredibly meaningful to them as a young person.
I will be forever grateful to Iris for taking a chance on this film and supporting me throughout the project. It has been incredible and life-affirming from start to finish, and I cannot wait to see where this little film goes next!
