Frostbitten
In 1999, Nigel Vardy survived a deadly storm on Mt. McKinley (now called Denali) thanks to a record-breaking rescue. Now, 25 years later, he returns to honor the rescuers and medical teams who saved him, reflect on the journey that gave him a second chance at life, and to learn more about what drives these incredible rescuers and what makes them who they are.

With over 20 years of experience in media production, I specialize in directing, producing, camera operation, editing, and project management. As Director of Retro Cassette, I have led high-profile video projects, including live broadcasts for BBC Sport and BT Sport, as well as dynamic corporate and documentary productions.
Passionate about storytelling, I recently directed and produced Frostbitten, a documentary filmed in Alaska, set to premiere and launch on Amazon Prime later this year.
Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in creating documentaries that delve into real-life stories, capturing raw emotions, struggles, and triumphs. From exploring the human impact of social issues to showcasing breathtaking environments and untold personal journeys, I focus on uncovering authentic narratives that resonate deeply with audiences. My ability to connect with subjects and bring their stories to light has been a cornerstone of my work.
My career also includes impactful work for government agencies, such as the Ministry of Justice, where I created mini-documentaries highlighting social narratives.
"As the director of this incredible project, I feel deeply honored to bring Nigel Vardy's powerful story to life. Filming his return to Mt. McKinley and capturing his reflections on survival, resilience, and gratitude has been an inspiring journey. This project is not just about revisiting a life-altering event; it’s about celebrating the strength of the human spirit and the extraordinary efforts of those who save lives. I hope this film resonates with audiences and highlights the profound impact of courage, community, and second chances."
