Frostbiter: Icelandic Horror Film Festival is an international horror film showcase. We are searching for interesting new talents in the horror film genre.

Iceland has a history that spans over a thousand years and a history of storytelling just as long. Through Viking Sagas and folktales we encounter many supernatural creatures; ghosts, elves, trolls and even the Devil himself. The cold, harsh scenery of this island is a great source of inspiration for magical beings. During the summertime the sun does not set and we are blessed with brightness 24 hours a day. However, during wintertime the darkness surrounds us all day and everybody knows that in the darkness, evil awaits….

Frostbiter: Icelandic Horror Film Festival is set in November in the town of Akranes. We decided to have the festival international so we could be inspired by filmmakers from around the world and also in hopes that international filmmakers will visit Iceland and be inspired too.

The Festival will be held in Akranes a port town on the west coast of Iceland. Around 20 km north of Reykjavik.

I want to thank Lovísa Lára Halldórsdóttir and Ársæll Rafn Erlingsson for starting the very first Icelandic Horror Film Festival in Akranes. It's a great contribution to the Icelandic film making community.
It's clear that the festival organizers care about film and that's what's most important. Bravo for paving the way for new Icelandic Horror film makers. I hope this festival grows bigger each year. It deserves the attention. This festival has huge potential to be something truly great.
Congratulations to Lára and Ársæll for a very successful horror film festival.

A great festival. Still finding its feet but it will grow into something special in no time. The organisers were very friendly an the films were of high quality. The social aspect was good and inclusive if pricey. But that's Iceland for you.
