Director Statement

"From The Concrete" is a heavy, emotional story about the journey of a man who had climbed to one of the highest positions in his sport, but was brought free-falling back to earth due to tragic injuries and the mental struggles that came with them. This project is a first-row seat as we watch Derrick Rose fight back from the depths to which he had sunk, and prove that there is always a chance for beauty to rise from the ashes. The film features an original score by the talented Christian Jessup. We hope you enjoy our production about the beauty behind "The rose that grows from the concrete."
