Frik-y Power Dynamics
This film breaks the stereotype of normative gender groups through a character called Tola, in a position of higher power dynamic than an Arab-African male. Unlike most exalted and authoritative high school groups that consists of men, Tola has inserted herself into this group where she holds as much power as the other two males. She speaks her mind and refuses to be stepped upon. On the other hand, the film also shows her in a power hungry position that is perceived as toxic by the world and unsuitable for a woman. Although her position is nota kind-centered one, it is one that proves that gender does not stand in the way of whatever a woman chooses to identify as.
