Free, Jazz

This coming-of-age music drama deals a lot with interpersonal emotions and connections. First and foremost, this short film tells the story of a young jazz trio trying to gain a foothold in the small Viennese jazz scene. Yet it also tells the story of two different families that couldn't be more different, an emotional attraction between the two main protagonists and a strong bond and passion for music.
This film shows in its way that you have to face certain situations in life and still try to achieve it even if it sometimes seems harder than it is.

Director Statement

It is incredibly wonderful to implement a vision and to realize this idea together with a
whole team. For me, cinema has always been another world where you immerse yourself
in a story and for a moment forget the here and now. Yet, it is also a medium to make
people think and to show different moments and emotions from different perspectives.
Meanwhile, almost two years have passed since I started writing this project. I have learned so much through this process and have become much more mature and experienced. To see that it is finally time to share this film with the world is incredibly beautiful. I still believe that everyone who sees it can take at least a small part of it with them and in some way identify with the story or the characters.
Music, along with film, is my great passion and I believe that the decision is a very special one, to reflect the questions about oneself with the help of music.
