Artist Biography

Naser D. Shahrivar is a visual artist and has been since childhood. In his retirement years he has added the profession of author and screenwriter to his achievements.
In March of 2002 he and his wife traveled to Iran so that he could share with her where he grew up. The beautiful country of Iran. Even then there were signs of its suffering tremendously from the changing of the government; it was raped of so much of its beauty and wealth. The economy and environment shone signs of stress. The religious radical fundamentalists in charge were taking from the people and filling their own pockets gaining more wealth than most citizens could dream of. They were promoting terrorism in the middle-east and around the world, participating in brutal acts of terror and torture to so many innocent citizens. Participation in money laundering, prostitution, drug dealing and even the act of stealing and selling human body parts on a black market were not beneath this regime. Iranians were being forced to live by the ridiculous religious rules while the leaders and their families live lives of deceit and corruption. He knew then that he must take ownership and blame as being one of the participants of the shameful act of voting for Ayatollah Khomeini, and he must play his part of exposing these evils to the world. He then took on this project to clear his mind of the disgrace he had bestowed upon his country. He has pledged to himself and his country even though it puts himself at risk and may never be allowed to return home (as long as this government remains in power) to push this project to its fullest.
“The Persian Lover” is his most recent self-published novel which is available in paperback but also as a kindle book on Amazon/Kindle. He reached to top one hundred in sales and this book had great reviews with a five of five stars rated by his readers. His 1st release of this book was titled “The Man Who Could Not Say Love” which was also available in paperback and on Amazon/Kindle.
Anxious to see his story come to life he hired several Screenplay writers which was not at all a good outcome. Being scammed by three “professionals” this forced him to take on the task of learning to write his own screenplay.
With much struggle jumping into an uncharted area he managed to receive a score of 125 and listed on Coverfly’s “The Red List” to be included in their database for those in the profession searching for top scripts. Entering in the Los Angeles International Screenplay competition “The Persian Lover” is yet under consideration and has advanced into the semifinalist list. With this being said, I find his abilities extraordinary especially since English is not his first language.
Mr. Shahrivar was born to immigrants from Russia who transitioned to Iran. As a child he sat eagerly listening to the many tales of his ancestors. His novel is inspired by a true story, and his determination to transform it to film for the world to view and understand the situations that the People of his homeland have been forced upon them is absolute.
At the present time Naser is working on three additional novels. The titles of the upcoming mentioned are: “The Call of Evil” Romance/Adventure – “Doctor Schmidt” Turn of the Century Romance/Adventure – “The coming of Zaal” Fantastic/Adventure of the ancient Zoroastrian period. Lastly, he is writing a small-scale booklet of health and how to live with diabetes and kidney failure.
