Frame x Frame Film Fest aims to bring dance filmmaking to Houston audiences while providing a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to share their work with the world, inspiring creativity and innovation.

Rules & Terms

Frame x Frame is open to films that explore the relationship of the moving body and the camera. Films will be selected based on the quality of the image, sound, and the choreography of the body as well as the camera. We have a particular interest in innovative use of space and the choreography's relationship to music.

We have a robust student portion of the festival, in partnership with the Houston Independent School District. We accept work from filmmakers as young as middle school, through college students. Graduate students, please submit under the professional category.

    It has been truly empowering how Lydia valued our film. Also it's been a pleasure to talk with her in the IG interview. Listening to other interviews, I can say that she was very open to the background stories of the films and insights of the filmmakers.
    Unfortunately I could not attend the festival personally, therefore also didn't see other films, but felt like a lighthearted team, with good communication and accessibility.
