Submit a track and one artist will be selected for a funded period of studio time to develop an album, alongside a professionally produced music video.

This is about giving an artist the space, time, and support to properly create.

From all submissions, we’ll select one artist and work closely with them to shape and record a project from the ground up.

We’ll listen to every submission in full.

We will select one artist to take part in a music residency, receiving:

🎧 Funded Studio Time

A dedicated period of studio time to develop an album. This is about giving you the space to properly create, without pressure.

🎥 Music Video Production

A professionally produced music video for one track from your project, developed collaboratively with the Day Job team.

🎼 Distribution through DITTO

Through our partners at DITTO, your music will be uploaded to multiple platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and more.

🤝 Ongoing Creative Partnership

You’ll become part of the Day Job network, with the potential for continued collaboration across future projects, events, and productions.

• Submissions must be original work, with all rights owned or controlled by the applicant.
• Open to artists worldwide, however selected artists must be able to work in the UK for the residency period.
• One artist will be selected for the residency.
• The residency will take place on dates agreed between the artist and the Day Job team.
• Studio time and support will be provided as part of the residency, but no direct cash alternative is offered.
• The structure and outcome of the residency (EP, album, recordings, etc.) will be developed collaboratively and are not guaranteed in a fixed format.
• Where applicable, any visual content developed alongside the music will be produced in collaboration with Day Job Films.
• Artists retain full rights to their music. Any collaborative outputs (e.g. visual work) will be agreed upon in advance.
• The selected artist agrees to reasonable documentation and promotion of the residency (e.g. behind-the-scenes content, social media).
• All submissions will be listened to and considered, but individual feedback may not be provided.
• Entry fees are non-refundable.
• Day Job Films reserves the right to amend or update the opportunity if necessary.
