The Fort Lauderdale Latino Film Festival's mission is to showcase emerging and established Latin creatives and filmmakers; by promoting the richness and diversity of our cultures and experiences. Celebrating through screenings, public discussion groups (both virtual and in person), workshops and special events.

The Festival will include screenings of groundbreaking works from all genres: short film, documentary, and full feature films.

The Festival programs will engage South Florida’s diverse communities through the universal language of film and develop a new space where filmmakers, actors, producers can meet with other artists, engage with audiences and present and discuss innovative work.

We encourage and especially look for films by latin filmmakers that are:

La misión del Festival de Cine Latino de Fort Lauderdale es mostrar a cineastas y creativos latinos emergentes y establecidos; promoviendo la riqueza y diversidad de nuestras culturas y experiencias. Celebrando a través de proyecciones, grupos de discusión pública (tanto virtuales como presenciales), talleres y eventos especiales.

El Festival incluirá proyecciones de obras pioneras de todos los géneros: cortometraje, documental y largometrajes.

Los programas del Festival involucrarán a las diversas comunidades del sur de Florida a través del lenguaje universal del cine y desarrollarán un nuevo espacio donde los cineastas, actores y productores pueden reunirse con otros artistas, interactuar con el público y presentar y discutir trabajos innovadores.

The Fort Lauderdale Latino Film Festival is open to professional and non-professional filmmakers working in the United States or abroad. Eligible entries must have been produced between 2018 to the present, have a Latino(a) in an "above the line" position (Producer, Director or Writer) and/or subject matter must have a relevant theme to the Latino/Hispanic community. All film genres are eligible: documentary, narrative, short, feature.

Submission requirements (Please read carefully):

All films submitted must be in final cut form.

All films must have English subtitles for all non-English language entries.

All submission requirements must be received by the deadline. No late submissions past the Late Deadline will be accepted. All submissions must be submitted online at: https://filmfreeway.com/FortLauderdaleLatinoFilmFestival

Films that are publicly available online prior to the Festival may be considered for exhibition during the Festival, but we prefer that films not be publicly available online or for sale.

A secure online screener link must be provided for press requests and internal festival use.

Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, and permits necessary to present their work. The Fort Lauderdale Latino Film Festival is not responsible for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, or royalty infringement related to the work.

If your film is accepted to the festival, we will notify you via email with instructions for press materials.

Exhibition materials must be delivered to the Festival office by: September 1, 2021

Entry fees are per each film and are non-refundable. The Fort Lauderdale Latino Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify a submission, without refund of any kind, if eligibility requirements are not met including if eligibility status changes post-submission.

The Festival will hold discussions following in-person film screenings. For films streaming virtually, filmmakers will also be invited to participate in virtual Q&As
